If You Know What's Going On In Gaza Is Wrong, Join Amnesty International's Protest At Stephen's Green, Dublin, Friday At 6pm.

I started the New Year full of new planning themes to post about but, to be honest, for the past week I’ve been very distracted by this whole business in Gaza. I’m sure that even as we speak there are worse atrocities being committed all over West Africa and Zimbabwe but for some reason the fact that Palestinian children are being killed by a regime that styles itself a champion of Western values makes Israel’s actions in Gaza seem all the more appalling. And as angry and distressed as I was after the Al Qaeda/9-11 attacks, I really would like the Israelis to know that, whatever personal reasons they may have for treating the Palestinians so ruthlessly, they must not feel that their actions are somehow protecting me in their War On Moslem Terror. So I’ll be taking part in the Amnesty International protest at St. Stephen’s Green in Dublin Friday evening at 6. I hope I run into a few of you there.

Gary i agree with you. i have to say the Israelis have left themselves down in the last week. I watched Israeli representatives actually gloat/smile on BBC newsnight when asked about bombing the U.N compound. in all the atrocities that the idf have perpetrated on their neighbours i have never seen them gloat over killing children before and this shocked me.It meant to me that they as a state are now dehumanised. Remember they have been controlling every part of the lives of the people of GAZA for years including food water and the ability to decide if Palestinians get to college or not. effictively Gaza is a concentration camp controlled by Israel. you would imagine the horrors of Nazi Germany would have stopped the Israelis acting like Nazi Germany but no it seems that Israel is determined to treat the Palestinians like they were treated themselves. sad very sad.

Seamie, on Fox's main evening news during the week, their reporter on the border actually said that he had to be careful what about what he was saying becuase the Israeli's were vetting his coverage. Strange, given Fox's pro-Israel position. I wonder if this means that the Israelis are censoring everyone else's coverage as well?

Press TV is on Sky, one channel up from Al Jazeera.

It is all outrageous. As an American, I am mortified that the US so cowardly abstained from the UN vote. Genocide is wrong no matter the players and this continuing bombardment is certainly nearing the genocide category.
